The RACC Job Fair aims to move students into the workforce.

On Wednesday, April 6, at 10 A.M., RACC will be hosting its annual Job Fair. The event is in the Schmidt Training and Technology Center on the first floor. This event is for everyone — RACC students, alumni, even job-seekers without RACC connections. The fair gives plenty of opportunities to broaden professional networks and possibly land an interview with a company in a desired professional field. There will be over 40 businesses at the fair, including CVS, East Penn Manufacturing, Herr Foods Inc., American Pool, and the Pennsylvania Army National Guard.

Students looking for a chance to be hired will find opportunity at the Job Fair.

Marlene Fares, Senior Academic Advisor and Career Development Specialist, and Celeste Brown, Career Center Specialist, are organizing the Job Fair. They have made sure everyone will be ready: computers and printers will be accessible and a preparation area will be made for those getting ready for an interview. Staff members will be available, ready to create a mock interview for those who want quick practice.

Success at the fair requires participants to anticipate opportunity.

“Be prepared,” Fares said. “Take advantage of RACC’s resources.”

Attendees should bring multiple copies of their resumes, a nice set of clothes, and whatever is needed to prepare for an interview.

The Job Fair is just one opportunity that RACC offers students seeking employment. RACC provides many resources to help its students succeed in their job search at the Career Services Office, including services at http://www.racc.edu/CareerServices/. On the Career Services page, students will find a list of employment opportunities, which is available through CollegeCentral.com, a site that provides information on jobs and guidance in the employment search.

With a RACC education, finding a job will be easier, especially with the large gathering of company representatives at the Job Fair.
